Pastel Drawing

Tony Nero is an acclaimed artist who designed album covers for Bob Marley and other Afro-Caribbean greats. He originally trained as a graphic designer and has worked in the music industry  for over 20 years. Tony’s work is very diverse and uses different mediums such as pencil, watercolour, pastel, oil and stipple-dot drawings. Tony also undertook some fine arts training at the London Guildhall University.

This edition of the workshop will focus on drawing with pastels.  A demo by Tony will be followed by attendees experimenting with some basic pastel techniques, before being let loose on a drawing that participants can take home.  All materials will be supplied.

This workshop is intended for anyone with an interest in drawing with pastels. No previous experience (or talent!) is necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to try something new.

This workshop is open to everyone over 18 years of age.

Felting

Eve Marshall is an artisan felter and teacher based in rural Lincolnshire, where she has been working creatively with felt for over twelve years using a variety of wet and dry felting techniques. Eve has a Bachelor of Arts and uses many different art techniques in her felting.

Under the expert guidance of Eve, attendees will learn some of the basic techniques of felting before being let loose to put some of their newly acquired skills in to practice.  With only 6 people in the workshop, help will never be far away.

In this edition of the workshop, participants will make a needle-felt item which can be taken home at the end of the workshop.  All materials will be provided.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to channel their artisitc flair.  Felting is one of the world’s oldest textile arts and with some guidance, participants can expect to achieve some impressive results.

The workshop is open to everyone over the age of 18.  No previous experience or talent is required.

African Drumming

Luther King has been in the music industry for more than 20 years playing at festivals and teaching music in schools, community centres, care homes and to people with special educational needs.  His real passion and expertise lies with African drumming, where he draws inspiration from rhythms from all over the world.

In this workshop, Luther will familiarise participants with the African drum, its history and the basic techniques used to play the instrument.  Luther will then demonstrate some rhythms and expertly guide the workshop on achieving a group, percussive experience.

Great for relieving stress!

This workshop is intended for anyone with an interest in global rhythms, drumming and percussion in one of  its rawest forms. No previous experience (or talent!) is necessary, just an open mind and a willingness to try something new.  All instruments will be provided.

This workshop is open to everyone over 18 years of age.
